Irena Joveva: Health has no borders, and silence is not an option
European Liver Patients’ Association (ELPA) shared a post on LinkedIn:
” ‘Health has no borders, and silence is not an option.’ — MEP Irena Joveva
From the heart of the European Parliament, MEP Irena Joveva is igniting a revolution in public health policy. With unwavering fire and fearless conviction, she stood up for millions of invisible patients battling Fatty Liver Disease, MASLD, and metabolic diseases—diseases( Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular and Cancer )that creep in silence but devastate lives.
We must act before symptoms speak. Prevention is power. Early detection and screening is justice. Patient voice is policy.” These weren’t just words—they were a rallying cry for Europe to wake up and act.
Joveva made it crystal clear:
This is not just a health issue—
It’s an economic emergency,
A social responsibility,
A political priority. In partnership with ELPA and MEP Hadjipantela, she demanded Europe step up:
Integrate liver health into NCD strategies
Fund proactive screening & public awareness
Ensure NO patient is forgotten—NO matter the disease, NO matter the silence.
Thank you, MEP Irena Joveva, for being a light in the dark, a warrior for prevention, and a true voice for the voiceless. Your leadership is rewriting the future of liver health in Europe. Let’s follow her lead. Let’s fight the silent epidemic—together.”
