Ioana Stoenescu: “Transforming Cancer Care” initiative is continuing to build coalitions in Western Balkans

“I Choose to Take Action!
Kicking off in Bucharest last October, the “Transforming Cancer Care” initiative is continuing to build coalitions in Western Balkans.
7 countries met today in Albania at the invitation of Donjeta Zeqa from Europa Dona under the moderation of Nick Guldemond – key policy and medical stakeholders, patients organizations discussing about challenges and how to join forces for an impact in improving cancer care.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share Romania’s successful approach to enhancing cancer care. Our distinguished speakers, Cristina Berteanu and Ganescu Costin Radu emphasized how our nation has effectively navigated challenges to establish quality and consistent care throughout the country.
Their insights into the role of public-private partnerships and the importance of placing patients at the heart of decision-making were particularly illuminating.
Thank you Liridona Beqiri for such an inspirational speech “Financial commitment is key and this discussion is not about spending money, it’s about smart spending for long term health benefits for a country”.
I also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Simon Drees for sharing invaluable insights on the financial opportunities available through the European Commission and inspiring case studies that ignited our collective imagination.
Ending with a key invitation to action for all of you and quoting a statement from today: what legacy do we leave behind?”
