A New Haaretz Investigation Reveals A Devastating Picture – The Institute of Cancer and Crisis
The Institute of Cancer and Crisis (ICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Gaza’s healthcare system is on the brink of total collapse.
A new Haaretz investigation reveals a devastating picture:
- No cancer treatment: Oncology services have completely stopped. Patients are left without chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
- No dialysis: Dialysis units are shutting down, leaving chronically ill patients without life-saving care.
- No power: Hospitals have lost reliable electricity. Generators are failing due to severe fuel shortages, making critical equipment like incubators, dialysis machines, and oxygen systems impossible to operate.
More than 1,400 healthcare workers have been killed since the escalation of violence. Many hospitals are overcrowded, severely understaffed, and running out of essential supplies. Without urgent intervention, we are facing a large-scale humanitarian catastrophe with entirely preventable deaths.
This crisis is not only a healthcare emergency but also a stark reminder of the essential role that access to fuel, electricity, and safe working conditions play in saving lives.
Health is a human right.”
