Hugo Levillain: Institut Jules Bordet became part of the pioneering Thera4Care initiative

Hugo Levillain shared a post by Institut Jules Bordet, on LinkedIn, adding:

“Thrilled to Announce!

It is a true honor for the Institut Jules Bordet to be part of the pioneering Thera4Care initiative, launched by GE HealthCare and supported by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI). This project aims to revolutionize the use of theranostics—combining therapy and diagnostics—to address critical health challenges.

The Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics departments of the Institut Jules Bordet, as key beneficiaries of this consortium, will play a crucial role in the preclinical, AI, dosimetry, and precision imaging work packages.

We are proud to contribute to the expansion of theranostic applications across Europe, helping to develop and implement scalable, standardized methods, from early-stage diagnostics to advanced therapeutic solutions.”

Quoting Institut Jules Bordet‘s post:

The Institut Jules Bordet is very proud to participate in the first ‘Thera4Care’ plan launched by GE Healthcare, an initiative aimed at revolutionising the use of theranostics (a contraction of therapeutic and diagnostic).

This project will focus on specific health problems: prostate, ovarian, pancreatic and sarcoma cancers, in line with the growing importance of multimodal radiotherapy solutions

Together with 28 partners from leading European academic and clinical institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises and patient advocacy groups, the Institut Jules Bordet will support the wider use of theranostics in Europe by creating, implementing and disseminating standardised and scalable methods from the production and early delivery of diagnostics to therapy.”

Hugo Levillain is the Head of Research and Development in the Medical Physics Department at the Institut Jules Bordet. He also leads the NuMix project at the Center for Microscopy and Molecular Imaging (CMMI). Additionally, he holds a position as a university lecturer at Free University of Brussels.
