Imane Bensalim: Honored to have participated in Sim Africa 2025
Imane Bensalim, PhD student in immuno-oncology and bioinformatics at Mohammed VI university of health and sciences, posted on LinkedIn:
“Honored to have participated in Sim Africa 2025, an international congress bringing together experts in health sciences and medical simulation from across the continent and beyond. The event took place from April 10–12 at Mohammed VI university of health and sciences.
I had the pleasure of presenting a scientific poster titled “STK11 as a Predictive and Therapeutic Biomarker in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).”
This study explores the complex role of STK11, particularly in KRAS-mutated NSCLC, where it contributes to resistance to anti-PD-1 immunotherapy. Through bioinformatic analyses, we revealed that STK11 is associated with immune cell infiltration, a cold tumor microenvironment, and could be linked to better prognosis. We also identified Nutlin-3a (-) as a promising therapeutic agent for STK11-mutated cases.
These findings emphasize STK11’s potential as both a prognostic and therapeutic biomarker, opening new doors for personalized immunotherapy strategies in lung cancer.
Grateful for the opportunity to share my work, connect with fellow researchers, and be part of such a vibrant and international scientific community.”
