“ICCD 2025 Event Highlights – Speakers’ Quote Series.
Day 5 of the ICCD 2025 throwback! On 4 February 2025, the ICCD policy event brought together key voices at the European Parliament.
Hosted and organised by MEP Andras Kulja MD (European People’s Party, Hungary) with the participation of SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) and Childhood Cancer International – Europe, the event explored potential solutions to the existing barriers in accessing cross-border care and research.
Today’s key insight comes from MEP Vytenis Andriukaitis (Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament, Lithuania), who addressed the challenges faced by European Reference Networks (ERNs) – a vital but underutilized tool for improving cross-border care and collaboration for children with cancer.
