Foundation S’ Home Away From Home initiative is open for a second year
Foundation S shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We’re proud to announce that our Home Away From Home initiative is now open for a second year, alongside our partners at Childhood Cancer International.
The purpose of Home Away From Home is to decrease treatment abandonment of children and adolescents with cancer by helping CCI member organisations provide a second home for the patients and their caregivers, close to health services.
By preventing treatment abandonment, we can prevent thousands of preventable deaths from cancer.
This request for proposals is open to you, if:
- You are a CCI member in good standing and have been one for at least one year;
- Your accommodation project is for a low or a middle income country;
- You have a demonstrated commitment and ability to support children/ adolescents with cancer and their families; and
- You have an accommodation project including; building, expanding, renting, improving or covering expenses for an existing home
Visit childhoodcancerinternational.org to learn more. We invite you to apply by sending your application to [email protected] by 16th of May, 2025 (midnight Paris time zone).”
Vanina Laurent-Ledru, Director General at Foundation S, shared this post, adding:
“Building a better future for children with cancer can start with a new Home Away From Home, closer to their health services.
I am already impressed by the work carried out in Bolivia, Malaysia and Zambia from our first round of projects.
Let’s now continue with Phase 2 for ‘Home Away From Home!’ which we are launching for International Childhood Cancer Day.”
