Hathal Haddad: A Major Step Forward in Cervical Cancer Treatment at Tübingen University Hospital
Hathal Haddad, Head of Interventional Radiotherapy Unit of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Tübingen University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Another milestone for the Brachytherapy unit at Radiation Oncology Tübingen in the Tübingen University Hospital and University of Tübingen: we have successfully transitioned our cervical cancer treatment from intracavitary (cervical sleeve) to interstitial brachytherapy, aligning with the latest evidence from the EMBRACE-II study (presented at ESTRO25).
This important step ensures our patients receive the most advanced and effective treatment in accordance with international standards.
I am deeply grateful for the strong support from Prof. Maximilian Niyazi and Prof. Cihan Gani, as well as our esteemed colleagues in Gynecological Department: Felix Neis, Prof. Bernhard Kraemer Tuebingen and Dr. Ernst Oberlechner. And the Anesthesia Department, led by Prof. Peter Rosenberger (Dr. Andreas Manger, Dr. Andreas Frey and Dr. Daniel Steiner)
Special thanks to Prof. Matthias Guckenberger and the brachytherapy team lead by Prof. Primoz Petric and Dr. Laura Motisi at Universitätsspital Zürich, and to Prof. Claus Belka and the Brachytherapy team lead by Prof. Stefanie Corradini and Dr. Maya Lottler at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München for their valuable input and collaboration.
Thank you also for giving us the opportunity to be hosted and observe the procedures in your departments during the initial phase – your generous support was essential for this important transition. Together, we are advancing patient care through evidence-based innovation.”
