Han Chong Toh: The greatest gathering of GI cancer leaders
Han Chong Toh, Deputy CEO of the National Cancer Centre Singapore, shared a post by Evelyn Wong, Medical Oncologist at National Cancer Centre Singapore, on LinkedIn, adding the following:
“What better way to crack open meaningful conversations than over a Crab party?
Amidst the succulent chili crabs, black pepper delights, and a few inevitably messy hands, we’re creating an informal, flavorful setting to bond, laugh, and share insights without any pharmaceutical or academic influence.
It’s not just about indulging in local culinary treasures but also about diving into how our peers tackle GI oncology across diverse landscapes. Because let’s be honest—nothing strengthens friendships and fosters collaboration like communal crab cracking and the mutual struggle of nudging the succulent meat out with chopsticks!”
Quoting Evelyn Wong‘s post:
“Surely the greatest gathering of world-leading gastrointestinal oncologists in a chilli crab restaurant, leading lights in GI cancers here at JUMBO Seafood Singapore cracking devouring juicy crabs – ancient symbol for cancer – cracking open conquering oesophageal, stomach, liver, biliary tract, pancreas, colon, rectal, anal, neuroendocrine cancers – driving landmark advances, shining a light to the road ahead for a better tomorrow a world without cancer.
Also, I arrived late from chairing a liver cancer roundtable only in time for mango sago dessert. A real honour for Kai Keen Shiu, Evelyn Wong, Raghav Sundar MBBS, PhD, Iain Tan, and myself to host this la dolce vita finger-licking feasting in Singapore. ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology Asia has been a blast.”
