Dubai is developing the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital (HBRCH), a new major oncology facility designed to provide integrated and comprehensive cancer care.
Part of Dubai Health, the hospital is being developed with support from Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health. The project is named in honor of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and is intended to serve as a regional center of excellence for cancer treatment and research.
Cancer Care, Research and Clinical Trials Under One Roof
Located in Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2, the 59,000-square-meter facility is designed to provide patients with a full continuum of cancer care, from early diagnosis and treatment to supportive care. According to Dubai Health, the planned hospital will include 53 clinics, 21 clinical research areas, 60 infusion rooms, 10 urgent care rooms, 5 radiotherapy rooms, and 116 inpatient beds.
Research and clinical trials are expected to be a central part of the hospital’s model, creating opportunities to evaluate evidence-based treatments and personalized therapies while integrating research more closely with everyday patient care.
Designed Around Patients and Families
Patient experience has also been incorporated into the hospital’s design. The facility will include 19 gardens intended to provide calm and supportive spaces for patients, their families, and hospital staff. The hospital has also been designed according to environmentally sustainable principles, combining clinical infrastructure with spaces focused on patient well-being.

International Collaboration
Dubai Health has partnered with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust to support the clinical and operational development of the hospital.
The collaboration is expected to draw on The Royal Marsden’s experience in cancer treatment, research, education, early diagnosis, and specialist models of care as Dubai Health develops services for the new facility.
Philanthropic Support for the Hospital
The development of HBRCH has been supported through donations to Al Jalila Foundation. In June 2026, the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation announced an AED 20 million contribution to support advanced engineering systems at the hospital, including life-safety, emergency evacuation, and power-distribution infrastructure.
By bringing cancer diagnosis, multidisciplinary treatment, clinical research, and supportive care together within a single facility, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital aims to strengthen comprehensive oncology care in Dubai and serve as an important cancer center for the wider region.
