Gustavo Viani: Can we skip transplants and high-dose chemo for relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma?
Gustavo Viani, Professor of Radiation Oncology at Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of Sao Paulo, shared on X:
“Can we skip transplants and high-dose chemo for relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma? See how targeted therapies + ISRT offer high survival with low toxicity
Objective
Evaluate a transplant-free, response-adapted approach for low-risk relapsed HL using nivolumab, brentuximab vedotin (BV), and ISRT
Methods
•Phase 2 with 28 participants (5–30 years)
•Treatment:
•4 x nivolumab + BV
•BV + bendamustine for suboptimal responders
•ISRT (30Gy) as consolidation
Results
•CMR rate: 93% before ISRT
•3-y OS 100%, EFS 87%, PFS 95%
•Safety: 79% AEs with 7 having severe events.”
