Gustaf Salford: Accelerating cancer care in Japan with Elekta

“Accelerating in Japan!
I’ve spent the last week in Japan – an important market for Elekta. In terms of size, it is our 4th largest market, and it has been key for us since we installed our first Leksell Gamma Knife there in 1990.
I travelled around Japan with my colleagues, Marco Lee and Koki Arioka, to meet some of our partners and customers – to understand their needs, and how the radiotherapy treatments are developing in the country. As in many other markets, personalization and productivity are essential to deal with the cancer burden in an aging population. Based on all our discussions, I am convinced that Elekta’s broad adaptive product portfolio; with MR- and CT-Linacs, Brachytherapy, Radiosurgery and Software Solutions will enable this, and support our customers in continuing to offer the best cancer treatment in the years to come.
We have a fantastic Elekta team in Japan! Under the leadership of Koki, they are building momentum and accelerating. I got the opportunity to get their input and feedback on how we further can develop our support to the market. I know they will continue to drive access to the best cancer care in Japan, and success for Elekta – danketsu!”
