Guillermo Chantada: The life of the great Audrey Evans came to Hollywood
Guillermo Chantada, President of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The life of the great Audrey Evans came to Hollywood.
A wonderful opportunity to celebrate her life and her devotion to children with cancer. A great leader and a major achiever whose contributions in neuroblastoma were seminal.
This is also an opportunity for us, the pediatric oncology community, to continue advocating for our cause—and a message to those who are younger to be passionate, persistent, creative, and scientifically solid as a rock.
Sadly, there are settings where most children with neuroblastoma are not cured. Even those with lower risk sometimes go undiagnosed. In many countries, advanced therapies remain unavailable or are prohibitively expensive, making them difficult for healthcare systems to afford.
We need to be more like Audrey every day to change this. Our children with neuroblastoma need us.
I invite you to watch the trailer here.
And the tribute that the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) posted a few years ago.”
