“The American Association for Cancer Research is the largest cancer research meeting in the world. This year I wanted to intentionally create connections and re-connect with mentors and colleagues. In moments like this, where funding for research has been impacted greatly, the power of connection within our scientific community has strengthened.
I am honored and happy to belong to a scientific community that thrives and that lift each other up. I am grateful to my mentors and colleagues, who in this difficult times have showed up for me and career. I also had the opportunity to give back as an Associate Member Council Member for the AACR. This year we had a record of high schoolers and undergraduates who participated at our career development sessions. I was able to mentored over 20 students who are eager to learn from our experiences and are motivated to pursue a career in cancer research. The future is bright.”
