Gevorg Tamamyan: To Me, MD Anderson Has Always Meant Dr. Kantarjian
Gevorg Tamamyan, Editor-in-chief of OncoDaily and the President of SIOP Asia Continental branch, shared a post on X:
“I just learned that Dr. Kantarjian has stepped down as Chair of the Leukemia Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is both heartbreaking and deeply disappointing.
Dr. Kantarjian is not just a living legend – his name is synonymous with challenging the status quo, thinking outside the box, and reshaping realities. He is a relentless fighter, an exceptional mentor, an outstanding physician-scientist, and one of the most remarkable individuals one could ever meet.
To me, MD Anderson has always meant Dr. Kantarjian. Without him, it will lose a significant part of its soul.
Hagop Kantarjian, thank you for everything you’ve done. Please know that there are countless people around the world whom you have mentored and inspired simply by being who you are, and that will continue to walk beside you, wherever your path leads.”
