Gertjan Kaspers: Fantastic group of colleagues at the LATAM Master Course
Gertjan, Gert-Jan Kaspers, Director of Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn by Pérez Scremini Foundation, adding:
“It is a fantastic group of colleagues from LatAm, so eager to learn and to exchange knowledge and experience. Also for as Dutch faculty members very worthwhile, and I am also grateful for their spirit. Earlier this week we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pérez Scremini Foundation and its hospital for children with cancer.
In that context, we have discussed the collaboration of Uruguay (and other LatAm countries) in several clinical trials, such as for Wilms tumors, neuroblastomas and AML.
And we set the week for the 2nd LATAM Master Course Pediatric Oncology (General aspects and Hemato-Oncology), starting 2 March 2026!
Thanks to Guzmán Nión, Guillermo Chantada, Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology and Luis Ney Castillo!”
Quoting Pérez Scremini Foundation’s post:
“Second edition of the LATAM Master Course: innovation, excellence and international commitment in pediatric oncology.
The second edition of the LATAM Master Course in Pediatric Oncology is a reality thanks to the immense commitment, support and vision of the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology team, a world leader in childhood cancer.
This innovative and unique program in Latin America has brought together more than 70 professionals from 12 countries, strengthening medical training and collaborative work in the region. With highly interactive sessions, expert talks, clinical simulations, and research projects, the Master Course is transforming the way we train future leaders in pediatric oncology.
In this 2025 edition, seven specialists from the Princess Máxima Center generously shared their knowledge, experience, and time with our medical community. Their presence not only enriched the course, but also reaffirmed the spirit of international cooperation necessary to advance in the cure of childhood cancer.
We are honored and motivated to have allies of this level, committed to a shared mission: to improve the treatments and quality of life of children and adolescents with cancer in Latin America and the world.
Thank you for being a part of this change!”
