Dana-Farber Cancer Institute shared on LinkedIn:
“Kimmie Ng, director of the Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center and senior author, and Sara Char, co-first author, report findings from a literature review in British Journal of Surgery that rates of early onset gastrointestinal cancers are rising rapidly, with the youngest groups experiencing the highest rise in rates.
The number of newly diagnosed cases of early onset gastrointestinal cancers rose by 14.8 percent between 2010 and 2019, according to the review.”
