Fumiko Ladd Chino: Failure is part success
Fumiko Ladd Chino, Radiation Oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on X:
“Med Twitter, Medstudent Twitter reminder: Failure is part success.
Today I was organizing some papers and found these 3 rejection letters from medical school (from Stanford, Yale, and UCSF). Normalizing rejection is just as important as sharing your wins.”
Charles Jiang, Medical Oncologist at UT Southwestern, shared a post by Fumiko Ladd Chino, adding:
“Incredibly important reminder: medicine is hard, and academia is even harder. We set ourselves up for disappointment if we don’t normalize failure. Rejections in publications, grants, and opportunities are part of the journey — not the end.”
