Foluke Sarimiye: A picture is worth a thousand words
Foluke Sarimiye, Clinical Lecturer in Radiation/Clinical Oncology and a Psycho-Oncologist at the University of Ibadan, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A picture is worth a thousand words.
As I reflect this season, I realize that the UpsideDown Challenge images are a poignant reminder, illustrating a timeless truth that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words.’ These powerful visuals capture the common phrase in the oncology community, ‘cancer turned my life upside down,’ as well as the unique thoughts, feelings, emotions, resilience, courage, stories, experiences, and hope of individuals, families impacted by cancer, and oncology healthcare teams. Now more than ever, it’s time for more action and less words.
This season and beyond, as the global oncology community unites to commemorate World Cancer Day, themed United By Unique, I reaffirm my commitment to individualized, people-centered care, characterized by compassion, empathy, and understanding of unique needs – essential for achieving optimal health outcomes.”
