Felicia Marie Knaul: Advocacy and care at the World AIDS Day Benefit Concert
Felicia Marie Knaul, Director of the University of Miami Institute for Advanced Study of the Americas, shared on LinkedIn:
“This Monday, December 3, we attended the World AIDS Day Benefit Concert, which is commemorated every year on December 1 and is an opportunity for communities to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and remember those we have lost.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) presented the AHF Lifetime Achievement Award to Julio Frenk, outgoing president of University of Miami and chancellor-designate of UCLA, for his pivotal role in launching the AHF Global Public Health Institute at the University of Miami. His innovative contributions to the HIV/AIDS response include ensuring universal access to antiretroviral therapy in Mexico, promoting anti-stigma efforts, fostering global health collaborations, and strengthening public health policies around the world.
We are so proud of you Julio!”
