On June 3, 2025, at the heart of the European Parliament, Prof. Shira Zelber‑Sagi—Public Health Councillor of EASL—delivered a strong, unified call to:
Raise awareness.
Prevent & detect early.
Support patient-centered approaches.
Drive bold EU policy action – from healthier food environments to equitable access to care.
She emphasized: “Let’s speak with one voice—uniting patients, clinicians, researchers, and public health actors—to put steatotic liver disease and other NCDs firmly on the EU agenda.”
