“Today, we lost one of the greatest oncologists in history, Argentine Prof. Esteban Cvitkovic, developer of cisplatin and numerous pivotal drugs in oncology. He was a mentor and huge friend to countless oncologists and researchers worldwide. We will never forget you, Esteban.”
Daniel Castellano, Medical Oncologist at University Hospital October 12, shared this post on X, adding:
“He reported the first preclinical study on the management of cisplatin using massive prehydration and mannitol induced osmotic diuresis to avoid the renal toxicity and open the door to an extended use of cisplatin chemotherapy regimens! Great researcher!”
