Esosa Omoregie: About Persistence, Patience, and Purpose
Esosa Omoregie, Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Biology at Georgia Southern University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This summer has been a journey, one filled with long hours in the lab, endless pipetting, countless trials, and most importantly, learning and unlearning. From DNA extraction to cloning and qPCR reactions, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in both the theoretical and practical sides of molecular biology.
Performing DNA extraction may seem like a routine task, but behind every well-defined protocol lies the deep intent to solve real problems to improve biosystems, to understand diseases better, and to contribute to healthier lives for individuals and communities.
I’ve come to realize that science is not just about data or results; it’s about persistence, patience, and purpose. It demands everything but it gives back meaningfully.
To my professors, mentors, labmates, and everyone who has supported this journey: thank you. Your guidance and encouragement have kept this process moving forward, even on the toughest days.
Here’s to the work we do! not just for the sake of discovery, but for the impact it brings to the world around us. ”
