Emily Pattinson: Honored to be Invited to Attend an EU Stakeholder Summit in Brussels

“This week, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend an EU Stakeholder Summit in Brussels, hosted by Youth Cancer Europe I have come away from this event with so much to think about and even more to be inspired by.
It was a real privilege to hear about the innovative research happening across Europe, and to explore how this work can shape not only future cancer care in health services, but also how we support colleagues living with or beyond cancer in the workplace.
I was proud to share the co-developed training that Inclusive Employers designed with Youth Cancer Europe as part of the EU-CAYS-NET project. The training supports healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient advocate groups to embed inclusive practice into their services by putting equity and lived experience at the centre of care and collaboration.
Even if you’re not working in healthcare, there is so much we can learn from exploring other sectors, especially when it comes to inclusion, compassion, and systems change. Events like this are a brilliant reminder of the value of learning from different perspectives.
I’d really encourage you to check out the brilliant work of Youth Cancer Europe and see how they’re driving change across policy, research and lived experience.”
