Elizabeth Ugwoma Awo-Ejeh: Life always finds a way to renew itself
Elizabeth Ugwoma Awo-Ejeh, Breast Cancer Survivor and Advocate for Early Detection and Women’s Empowerment, posted on LinkedIn:
“Chemotherapy came with more than just the physical battle—it challenged me in ways I never imagined. One of the hardest moments for me was losing my hair. It might seem like a small thing in the grand scheme of everything, but for someone who’s always loved playing with her hair, feeling its softness, and styling it in ways that made me feel confident and alive—it was tough.
Seeing my hair fall out was like losing a part of my identity, a part of myself that I cherished. But with every lock that fell, I was reminded of something bigger: I was fighting for my life. My hair was only a part of me, and though it was gone, my strength remained.
Now, as my hair slowly starts to grow back, I feel a new sense of hope. Each tiny strand reminds me that life always finds a way to renew itself. It’s a sign that I am healing, not just on the outside but on the inside too. Through this journey, I’ve learned that true beauty and strength go far beyond what we see in the mirror.
So, for anyone going through a tough season—whether you’re battling an illness or facing other challenges—remember that the losses we face today are just temporary. Your spirit, your resilience, and your courage will always shine through. And in time, all the things that seemed lost will find their way back to you, sometimes in ways you never imagined.
This is not just about hair—this is about life, growth, and trusting that everything will fall into place, step by step.”
