Douglas Flora Reflects on AI and Innovation in Oncology at the 26th Annual Scientific Symposium
Douglas Flora, Executive Medical Director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Healthcare and ACCC President-Elect, shared the following insightful post on LinkedIn:
“Just wrapped up a quick but powerful trip to Nashville to speak at the 26th Annual Scientific Symposium hosted by the brilliant minds at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
Huge thanks to Karen Winkfield, and Christopher Williams, for the kind invitation to present—and major kudos to the organizers for crafting such a thoughtful, timely program on AI in cancer research and clinical care. The conversations were honest, energizing, and exactly what we need more of: deep dives into both the promise and the peril of AI, especially when human lives are involved. This entire program was organized by the trainees, which was just great.
Left feeling inspired by the curious people I met, the bold new ideas shared, and the real momentum toward responsible, collaborative innovation. Grateful for the chance to contribute—and even more grateful for everything I learned. And Eytan, I want that lunch date.”
