Quoting Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto – IPO Porto‘s post:
“As part of the CCI4EU Project – Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union, funded by the European Union and led by the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto (IPO Porto) hosted a team of nine European experts this week, who returned to Portugal on an ongoing consultancy mission (“Deep Dive”).
This Deep Dive marks the second of three visits. As in the first visit, in November 2024, the theme was Precision Cancer Medicine, focusing on presenting the initiatives already underway in the dimensions of patient pathways, education and training, and cancer research and innovation, with the collaboration of the CCI partners.
Representatives from IPO Porto, Alto Ave Local Health Unit, Braga Local Health Unit, Gaia and Espinho Local Health Unit, the Executive Directorate of the SNS, Directorate-General for Health/PNDO, AICIB – Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation, Portuguese League Against Cancer – North, the Northern Cancer Registry, and the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto, actively participated in this event.
The main aim of this visit was to elaborate an action plan to be developed in the upcoming months for the implementation and development of a Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructure (CCI) in the North of Portugal, through a collaborative network with institutions and public bodies having relevant activities and functions in the area of Oncology.”
