Dean Crowe: Rally Foundation Awards $5.5M for a Record Number of Grants to 74 Childhood Cancer Researchers
Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Our first grant was $5,000. Today, we awarded $5.5 MILLION in dual peer-reviewed pediatric cancer research grants across the U.S. and around the world—bringing our total funded to $40.5 MILLION.
Nearly 20 years ago, I walked into William’s hospital room and was shaken. He was a junior in high school—the same age as my healthy son—and he was fighting brain cancer for the second time. And he was so very sick.
I asked his mom, Nancy, what I could do to help. And I told her, flat out, that I wasn’t going to bring her dinner—because this situation was so far past dinner.
“Raise money and fund the best childhood cancer research.” – She looked at me and said.
That moment sparked the beginning of Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research.
We are proud to be philanthropic seed investors in the next great discovery, and we’re incredibly excited about the impact this year’s grant recipients will make for kids fighting cancer.
We are so grateful to our supporters who make this possible!”
