Daniel Kelly: Clinical Nurse Specialists’ role is an essential component of effective cancer care
Daniel Kelly, Lead Governor at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Emeritus Professor of Healthcare Sciences at Cardiff University, shared a post on LinkedIn by Linda Sherwood, Team Lead of Colorectal Cancer Specialist Nursing Service at NHS Lothian, adding:
“CNS role is an essential component of effective cancer care. Good to see the Western General Hospital again (birthplace of Maggie’s Centres).
Very happy times working there in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. I was Charge Nurse in Ward 5, Medical Oncology. Still in touch with some colleagues 35 years on!”
Quoting Linda Sherwood’s post:
“Happy National Cancer CNS Day today from Edinburgh!
More than just a point of contact…
So proud and privileged to work alongside skilled CNS teams in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre who are advocates, educators and expert clinicians in their field.
Gathered are just a few representing teams after a celebratory breakfast this week.”
