Colorectal Cancer Awareness with Baja – Onco Intelligence

Onco Intelligence shared a post on LinkedIn:

Colorectal Cancer Awareness with Bajaj.

On 28 March 2025, We organized a Colorectal Cancer Awareness event at Mbezi Mwisho Old with support from Global Colon Cancer Association and Blue Hat Bow Tie. We used an innovative approach by involving Bajaj to spread important health information in a way that was easy, affordable and effective.

What We Did

Distributed 1,000+ flyers

We gave out flyers to Bajaj drivers, passengers, and people at the bus stand. The flyers had simple messages about colorectal cancer risk factors, symptoms and prevention tips.

Decorated Bajajis with flyers

Posters with life-saving messages were placed on Bajajis making it easier for people to see and read while walking or driving. This helped increase awareness even among those who didn’t receive flyers.

Reached More people everywhere

The Bajajis traveled through busy areas like markets, neighborhoods and traffic jams ensuring that more people got the information.

Encouraged screening and early detection

We shared details on where and how people could get screened a big step towards early detection and prevention.

Why Bajaj?

Reached more people efficiently

Unlike stationary awareness programs, Bajajis helped us take the message directly to the community. We reached people in different locations including those who might not attend hospital awareness events.

Affordable and attention-grabbing

Bajajis are a common and accessible mode of transport. Their bright colors and mobile ads made people curious to read the messages making this a cost-effective way to spread awareness.

Engaged the community in an interactive way

People found it easier to learn when information was brought directly to them. Using loudspeakers and direct conversations helped answer their questions and clear up misunderstandings. Many Bajaj drivers also became part of the campaign by carrying flyers and sharing information with their passengers.

Moving forward, we aim to expand this campaign to more areas but enough fund is a great barrier. You can donate via:
