Transforming research ideas into real-world solutions for cancer care at the 2025 CReDO workshop – City Cancer Challenge
City Cancer Challenge shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The future of cancer research is shifting. The global oncology community is moving toward health systems-oriented, implementation science-driven research – an approach embedded in C/Can’s work.
At C/Can, our research initiative supports local cancer experts in designing and implementing research projects that generate practical evidence to strengthen health systems. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and technical support, we are equipping local experts with the tools to drive policy change and improve cancer care in their cities.
Last week, this vision came to life at the 2025 CReDO workshop in Lonavla, India, where almost 80 participants and 40+ faculty members gathered to transform research ideas into real-world solutions for cancer care. Among them were six participants from C/Can cities, all driven by a shared commitment to strengthening cancer research in LMICs.
- Nwamaka Lasebikan (Abuja, Nigeria)
- Gorky Yupanqui (Arequipa, Peru)
- Juan Carlos Pari Salas (Arequipa, Peru)
- Anita Eseenam Agbeko (Kumasi, Ghana)
- Alejandro Olmos Guzman (León, Mexico)
- Irene Nzamu (Nairobi, Kenya)
By embedding implementation science into local health systems, we can create evidence-based interventions that are sustainable, scalable, and tailored to real-world challenges.
A huge thank you to the CReDO workshop, and especially Priya Ranganathan and CS Pramesh, for leading the way in building research capacity within the global oncology community.
Learn how C/Can is fostering an embedded implementation science approach through technical support and local research capacity building.”
