Chris Poulios: Interdisciplinary Collaboration is Critical to Achieve Optimal Patient Care!
Chris Poulios, Steering Committee Member of Young Cancer Professionals at the European Cancer Organisation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Interdisciplinary collaboration is critical to achieve optimal patient care!
This requires professional collaboration, as shown by the Every Day Pathology post from ESP, having joined educational activities, learning from each other, joined research projects, and having design of future strategy drawing substantial input from diverse sources!
Cancer care has advanced immensely in the last decades, with numerous new biomarkers and new insights in cancer biology, new treatment options, and new classifications coming to daily practice.
Interdisciplinary meetings and educational activities are crucial not just to keep up with developments at other specialties but also to see how your work is affecting others and of course how this translates into patient care!”
Quoting European Society of Pathology’s post below:
“Snapshot from our weekly molecular tumour board, where NGS-tested oncology cases are reviewed by pathologists, molecular scientists and oncologists.
The atmosphere is friendly and collaborative!
