“Is “Incurable” Outdated?
Metastatic Breast Cancer has long been considered incurable, managed with ongoing treatment rather than resolved. But recent advances in HER2-targeted therapies are beginning to challenge that assumption.
New clinical data suggests that a subset of patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer may achieve long-term remission — and in rare cases, even be considered functionally cured.
Researchers and oncologists are cautiously optimistic. While not a widespread shift yet, these outcomes mark a potential turning point in how we define success in metastatic cancer care.
Explore the emerging science and what it could mean for the future of treatment.”
