Wafik S. El-Deiry: A Tough Year for Federal Cancer Research Funding
Wafik S. El-Deiry, Director of Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University and Chair of the WIN Consortium in Cancer Personalized Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The R01 Grant pay-line is at the 4th %-ile at the NCI (4 out of 100 reviewed grants will be awarded this year).
‘Expect to fund through the 4th percentile for those EI/NI applications’
NCI Full Year Funding Policy for RPG Awards FY 2025.
To say this is a difficult year for federal funding of cancer research is an understatement.
Consequences are not aligned with the America First agenda, are decimating the current workforce and future competitiveness.”
