“The Countdown to World Cancer Day Begins!

In just two weeks, the global community will unite to shine a light on the fight against cancer. As President of ELPA, I invite you to join a transformative movement that’s reshaping the future for liver cancer patients.

This is not just another day on the calendar—it’s a rallying cry for action, a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, and an opportunity to redefine what’s possible for the millions impacted by liver cancer. It’s a day to inspire bold ideas, foster innovation, and champion change on every front: science, policy, prevention, and care.

Imagine a world where:

Every liver cancer patient has early access to life-saving screenings and treatments.
Prevention becomes a universal priority, with global initiatives that halt cancer before it starts.
Patients and their perspectives lead the way, shaping scientific discoveries and driving meaningful policy changes.
The stigma surrounding liver cancer is eradicated, replaced by compassion, understanding, and empowerment.

Here’s how we make this vision a reality:

Patient Perspectives: Patients are more than numbers—they are stories, dreams, and lives worth fighting for. Let’s ensure their voices lead the charge, inspiring systems that truly serve their needs.

Scientific Innovation: Breakthroughs in early detection, personalized treatments, and cutting-edge research are the keys to defeating liver cancer. We must advocate for investment in science that turns hope into reality.

Prevention Is Power: Risk factors like viral hepatitis B. C and D, alcohol misuse, MASLD, MASH.. and unhealthy lifestyles are preventable. Together, we can educate, inform, and empower communities to reduce liver cancer incidence.

Access to Care: Every patient, no matter where they live or their financial status, deserves access to world-class care and state-of-the-art treatments. Liver cancer knows no boundaries—neither should care.
