“I am always humbled for the opportunities to be a voice for our cancer patients and communities.
Super excited to be attending the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago to present our research findings at the largest cancer conference in the world. Over 40,000 are expected at this year’s meeting.
Our abstracts are as follows:
1. Utilizing cancer community outreach and engagement to explain impact of age, income, residence, knowledge, and survivorship on cancer fatalism in urban and rural/marginalized areas.

– We recruited 1,457 participants to explain cancer fatalism in Nigeria.
2. Patient engagement in accelerating care level activation of precision medicine with patient educational materials in Nigeria: A pilot study.

-We recruited 147 cancer patients to explore precision medicine.
3. Estimating the access to psychotherapy and psychological support for cancer patients in Nigeria: A national study.

– We recruited 1,389 cancer patients from across Nigeria to explain access to psychotherapy and psychological support for cancer patients in Nigeria. This is the first ever national study on access to psychological support for cancer patients in the country.
4. Investigating the educational and practice needs of oncology pharmacists in West Africa: A case study of Nigeria.

5. Exploring treatment adherence and unmet needs of older breast cancer survival in Nigeria.
