Andreas Charalambous: Digital solutions are transforming supportive cancer care
Andreas Charalambous, Chair of Department of Nursing at the Cyprus University of Technology, posted the following on LinkedIn:
“Thank you The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and Eli Lilly and Company for the opportunity to present the ways that digital solutions can help in adherence, decision-making, and adverse events management in oral cancer therapies in eBC.
Although challenges remain, there is great potential for technologies such as mobile applications and virtual reality to be integrated into the patients’ clinical pathways and care provided closer to home.
Project’s outcomes such as the ones by eCAN Joint Action and TRANSiTION were discussed in the context of cancer care, both in terms of providing remote support but also in supporting the digital prepareteness of healthcare professionals to uptake such digital solutions Adverse Events.”
Andreas Charalambous is the Chair of Department of Nursing at the Cyprus University of Technology and serves as an Adjunct Professor (Docent) at the University of Turku, Finland. He has founded prominent organizations including the Cyprus Oncology Nursing Society and the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS). He also served as the immediate Past President of the European Cancer Organisation. Prof. Charalambous is the founder of the Cancer Nursing Fund and the European Cancer Community Foundation. He got promoted to Chair of IASLC.
