Amil Družić: On World Health Day, I had the privilege of meeting with the CEO of the European Cancer Organisation
Amil Družić, Oncology and Radiotherapy Resident at Clinical center University of Sarajevo, shared a post by Elisabetta Zanon, adding:
“Today, on World Health Day, I had the privilege of meeting with Elisabetta Zanon, CEO of the European Cancer Organisation, along with Silvia Romeo, Miruna-Ioana Guțu and Giuseppe Filiti.
As a member of the Young Cancer Professionals Network and Vice-Chair of the HPV and Hep B Action Network, I shared recent activities from Bosnia and Herzegovina—especially efforts around HPV awareness, vaccination, and collaboration with local health authorities.
We also reflected on the regional momentum following the SEE HPV Conference and the joint declaration to eliminate HPV-related cancers.
Grateful to contribute to this shared mission of cancer prevention across South East Europe and beyond.”
Quoting Elisabetta Zanon‘s post:
“Today I have had the pleasure to exchange with Dr Amil Družić on the several steps taken in Bosnia and Herzegovina to promote HPV vaccination to prevent cervical and other HPV-related cancers. This includes awareness campaigns, pilot projects (especially in the Sarajevo Canton) and other collaborative initiatives with local health authorities. It it great to see how the European Beating Cancer Plan is inspiring countries beyond the EU to take new initiatives to reduce the burden of cancer”
