UCI School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Congratulations to Alexandre Chan on receiving the 2025 Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences (COHS) Faculty Assembly Basic Science COHS Team Research Award.
In collaboration with Dr. Munjal Acharya from the UC Irvine School of Medicine, their research focuses on the alleviation of cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI).
Alexandre Chan, Founding Chair and Professor of Clinical Pharmacy Practice at UCI School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, shared this post, adding:
“The journey of drug repurposing for a challenging condition like chemobrain can often be lonely and difficult. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met Professor Munjal Acharya, and to have partnered with him over the past few years on our shared translational research path. Very grateful that we found each other!
This award marks an unexpected yet meaningful milestone in our partnership and early achievements.
Thank you to the UCI College of Health Sciences for this honor. I look forward to the day we achieve a true breakthrough in treatment—and to providing evidence-based care for cancer patients and survivors affected by chemofog.
And please allow me to put in an advertisement plug – Munjal will be sharing our research journey at The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) annual meeting next week in Seattle.
Please join us if you are attending the meeting!”
