Nike Onifade Reflects on Her Journey and New Role at Advocate Health as an Integral Part of REWIRE2030 Strategy
Nike Onifade, Administrative Leader for the Advocate Health National Cancer Service Line at Advocate Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“My journey with Advocate Health began long before I started my new role this week as the inaugural administrative leader for their new national cancer service line.
As part of the American College of Healthcare Executives Executive Program last year, I had the pleasure of connecting with Michele Richardson, Chair of the Board of Directors of Advocate Health. I left our conversation with a strong sense that her steady leadership and masterful guidance of Advocate’s integration of Advocate Health Care, Aurora Health Care, Atrium Health, and Wake Forest University School of Medicine were clearly a model to be studied across our industry.
And before that, still reeling from the pandemic era a few years ago, I had picked up Advocate CEO Eugene A. Woods’ book, “Health, Hope, and Healing for All,” a passionate retelling of what we overcame together during the pandemic, and how far we still have left to go to truly care for all in the communities we serve. Reading Gene’s words, I felt both seen and utterly impressed with the level of authenticity and grit that he exhibits as the leader of one of the largest and most forward-thinking health systems in the nation.
Now in my new role, as an integral part of Advocate’s REWIRE2030 strategy, I am humbled at this tremendous opportunity to innovate and transform the delivery of cancer care, research, and education across the Advocate Health footprint and beyond. We treat over 50,000 new cancer patients across 130 locations every year, and the prospect of offering these patients a truly comprehensive, world-class experience – regardless of where they live – is a responsibility I feel so privileged to bear.
I’m so excited to be on this adventure with my new dyad partner, the incomparable Ruben Mesa, by my side! A special shoutout to Morgan Best, and the team at M.L. Best Consulting, who connected me with this incredible opportunity and who are truly “best”-in-class in the executive search space.”
Ruben Mesa, President and Executive Director of Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared this post, adding:
“We are so honored and fortunate to have your experience, expertise, energy and passion for transformative cancer care help REWIRE Cancer Care across Advocate Health and Beyond.”
