Aditi Hazra: Displaced People Must Not Remain Invisible in Cancer Clinical Trials
Aditi Hazra, Assistant Director at VA COURAGE and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Over 123 million people worldwide are forcibly displaced, yet displaced persons remain almost invisible in cancer clinical trials. As highlighted in the Science Letter and UNHCR Pledge GRF-0026, to minimize trial disruptions and address global inequities, cancer clinical trial oncologists, researchers, regulatory authorities, and industry partners must bring the trial to the patient.
By using decentralized trial sites, patient navigators, and digital technology, we can reach displaced and underserved populations, ensuring access to life-saving research and care for all. Building an inclusive clinical trial infrastructure strengthens cancer care for every community.”
