“Lung Cancer Is Treatable, and Patients Deserve to Know That” – ACS NLCRT on Shifting the Narrative in Cancer Care
American Cancer Society National Lung Cancer Roundtable shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Lung cancer is treatable, and patients deserve to know that.
Despite major advances in treatment, stigma and outdated beliefs still shape how lung cancer is discussed. This Cancer Survivors Month, the ACS NLCRT is spotlighting our new commentary published in Annals of Internal Medicine that outlines 9 actionable recommendations to help shift the narrative.
Primary care clinicians are especially critical to this work, and many of the recommendations focus on how they can help replace nihilism with empathy and hope.
Read the commentary.”
