Douglas Flora: Hygge – enjoying the simple things in life and savoring those little moments
Douglas Flora posted LinkedIn:
“I’ve been stretched thin over the past few months between my daily work at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, getting this journal off the ground, and a new startup (stay tuned, coming soon). I got busy, then injured, and hadn’t been taking great care of myself. This holiday came just in time. We leave Norway today for a few days in Amsterdam, but I’m already feeling so refreshed. It’s been a great time with a good book and the people I love.
I learned a new Scandinavian word for this feeling: Hygge. It’s more than just coziness—it’s about enjoying the simple things in life and savoring those little moments. It’s about being present and taking the time to appreciate the people and things around you. Hygge is curling up on the couch with a warm blanket, sharing comfort food with close friends, or simply feeling a sense of gratitude and well-being.
I’m definitely feeling grateful and recharged. I hope you take some time to find your own hygge this summer.”
