Megan-Claire Chase: Serious challenges of ‘surviving’ breast cancer as a Black woman under 40
Megan-Claire Chase, Breast Cancer Program Director at
“When I opened YouTube this morning, my breast cancer story that aired on The Patient Story 11 months ago popped up. I think it was a sign from the universe to remind me of how much I have been through since that cancer call on 9/14/15. I still have hope of having my own cancer survivor talk show and being on stage again..
I decided to rewatch it since it has been a hot minute and…whew!!! I got unexpectedly emotional listening to myself discussing the serious challenges of ‘surviving’ breast cancer as a Black woman who was still under 40 at the time.
There are soooo many diamond nuggets I mentioned here. I hope the oncology community, researchers, cancer centers and organizations, and pharma take a listen.”
