“This year’s Global Health Catalyst Summit was immensely rewarding and exciting in many ways.
Firstly, Lacy Hubbard, President of the Elekta Foundation, received an award for her work. Since the foundation’s establishment in 2022, significant progress has been made. For more information about Elekta Foundation’s work since its inception, visit here.
More than 200 delegates from over 40 countries listened to Lacy Hubbard’s acceptance speech. In a vivid, and compelling manner, Lacy shared her experience from the early days when the bar was set high, the Foundation decided to join the World Health Organization’s mission to eliminate cervical cancer.
Today, after successfully screening over 90,000 women (over 10% of the total number to be screened in Rwanda), she is convinced that Rwanda can and will eliminate cervical cancer before 2030.
Who were invited to this year’s event? Invited speakers at GHC summits include Presidents, First Ladies, Ambassadors, oncology health professionals, leading journal editors, industry and diaspora leaders, young global health catalysts (such as students and residents), cancer advocates, NFL players, and community-based organization leaders from non-profit organizations.
