Carvedilol in childhood cancer survivors who received Anthracyclines – St. Baldrick’s Foundation
St. Baldrick’s Foundation, shared a post on X:
“Anthracyclines, used for treating childhood cancer, may improve survival but can also cause heart failure. To reduce this risk, researchers tested carvedilol in childhood cancer survivors, research partly supported by St. Baldrick’s.
While safe, it didn’t significantly improve heart function overall but showed promise in long-time survivors. Further research is needed to strategize how survivors can better manage their heart health and you can help fund it.”
