Ashley Magargee: I am so proud that Genentech is part of the Biden Cancer Moonshot program

Ashley Magargee, Chief Executive Officer at Genentech, shared a post by Genentech on LinkedIn:

“We know that the best chance of beating cancer starts with prevention and early detection. The Biden Cancer Moonshot program recently announced important actions by leading U.S. employers to make cancer screenings more accessible for American workers.

I am so proud that Genentech is part of this program and will pilot a women’s health screening day this fall, including on-campus mammography and cervical cancer screenings, to give all of our employees more convenient access to this important preventive care.

This initiative, which aims to improve widespread, equitable access to preventive cancer screenings, builds on our long-standing commitment to helping patients get the care they need and deserve.

Quoting Genentech’s post:

“As we wrap up the inaugural National Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Month, we’re proud to be recognized by the White House for its commitment to improving access to cancer screenings for its employees.

We firmly believe that regular cancer screenings should be accessible to everyone, including our employees and their families.

To emphasize the significance of preventive healthcare, we offer financial incentives to our employees in our medical plans, which are up to $325 per year for completing their recommended preventive care, including cancer screenings.

These incentives encourage our employees to take proactive steps toward their preventive care. In addition, our medical plans cover 100% of the costs for routine screenings related to breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancers.”
