“Thank you, Lynn Schuchter for all your work as ASCO President to advance cancer research, elevate patients’ voices, and open doors for more women in oncology.”

Estela Rodriguez is Associate Director of Community Outreach and Co-Lead of Thoracic Site Disease Group of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is board certified in medical oncology and hematology. She has a special interest in the early detection of lung cancer and increasing access to clinical trials. Dr. Rodriguez is known to help empower women to take charge of their own healthcare and believes in the power of mentorship.

Lynn Schuchter is the President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Dr. Schuchter is the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, Director of the Tara Miller Melanoma Center and Professor of Hematology-Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Schuchter served on the ASCO Board of Directors from 2009 to 2012, as well as several ASCO committees, including terms as Chair of the Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee, Cancer Research Committee, and Cancer Communications Committee. In 2019, she was awarded ASCO’s Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award.
