Cancer Survivors Day 2024
Cancer survivorship isn’t about just being alive after cancer. It’s about living life as fully as possible. The 37th Annual Cancer Survivors Day was held on June 2nd 2024.
Our team at OncoDaily has curated some posts to commemorate this day.
On National Cancer Survivors Day 2024, I lift up my cancer family. It’s a big one! It’s everyone who is living with cancer, who has a history of cancer, who is, or was, a caregiver, it’s our healthcare providers and, our professionals, our researchers.
It’s our cancer families. Our friends who’ve been hit hard by cancer. Cancer is hard, but cancer research at the V Foundation and at many other institutions brings us hope. Love to my cancer family.
I simply had to share a few pics of my cancer story for National Cancer Survivors Day! As the song goes in my video…I will keep the hope alive and continue to do what I can to shove the needle forward for equitable care and support.
I also continue to honor the memories of friends taken too soon by MBC, brain cancer, and more. They are not forgotten.
Richi Childhood Cancer Foundation
On National Cancer Survivors’ Day, we celebrate the incredible resilience of survivors worldwide. At the Richi Childhood Cancer Foundation, we are privileged to witness the inspiring journeys of the first Richi House cohort, comprised of teenagers and young adults who are brain tumor survivors.
Their stories inspire us every day, reminding us of the power of resilience and the importance of community support.
As we commemorate this day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting childhood cancer survivors on their path to healing and thriving through the Richi House. We are overjoyed to see their happiness and strength reflected in these photos, celebrating their remarkable journeys.
Today, we honour the incredible strength of cancer survivors. Here is the GIFTS of Survivorship Workbook I use to coach my patients. Please share with anyone you know who has been diagnosed with cancer.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Pablo Picasso
Cancer is a complex disease that provokes uncertainties and obstacles. It is one of the toughest battles any human can face. Yet millions of cancer survivors show incredible courage, teach us every day, and encourage us to do more and be better.
We understand that every individual’s cancer journey is unique, and everyone needs some form of support along the way. That’s why we developed the GIFTS of Survivorship Program to help you achieve a state of calmness and clarity despite living with cancer.

For the past two decades, we have invested our time and resources in building verticals that help more patients solve the daily problems they experience and survive cancer.
As an Oncologist, I am dedicated to creating patient-facing tools that simplify health information, increase survival rates, and offer vital resources for recovery. Combining our expertise and technology creates a more supportive and empowering experience for our survivors.
Here’s how we’re strengthening the cancer care ecosystem.
Sebeccly Cancer NGO: Over 30,000 women have received breast and cervical cancer screenings. In 2024, our Thank God Its Friday will provide additional cancer screening services, including mammograms and continue to discount breast cancer surgery and chemotherapy.
PROSECare App: Patients should understand the cancer treatment they will receive, the side effects they may experience, and how to self-manage them, especially during non-clinic hours. PROSECare is a low-cost, remote symptom-monitoring application that has generated 50,000+ acute side effects from hundreds of patients with 16 cancer types.
The app offers personalized support and resources for managing symptoms and side effects during chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Oncopadi Tech App: Do you need a second opinion about a cancer diagnosis? The Oncopadi app connects patients with cancer specialists, simplifies communication, navigates patients and empowers informed cancer care decisions.
Pearl Oncology Specialist Hospital: A cancer centre advancing cancer care and clinical research. Together with our clinical partners, we deliver quality cancer in 4 communities-Lekki, Ojo, Gbagada and Victoria Island.
Today is National Cancer Survivors Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the resilience, strength, determination and triumph of individuals who have overcome cancer.
Until this year I never knew just how meaningful this day is. I snapped this photo in mid-February, off the side of the highway while en route to Kelowna General Hospital.
Little did I know quite the journey that would lie ahead; seven surgeries, a lengthy stay in ICU, multiple complications, a lot of humour, an incredible oncologist and surgical team, ridiculously talented nurses by my side, rehab and wound care for months, and friends and family that were always there. Always.
On Cancer Survivors Day today, I am reminded of the progress made in cancer research and treatment advancements. Today is a day to celebrate the oppportunities for early detection, improved treatments, and survivorship programs.
I am where I am today because of early detection. To any and all women out there aged 40 and older – please go and get a mammogram. To all you fellow cancer survivors out there, I salute you.
Cancer has touched the lives of too many. Here’s a moment with my mom, her strength offering more comfort than I could give her.
Today, we celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day, marking her 15 years in remission! Here’s to all the warriors who’ve faced this battle!
