Vanina Laurent-Ledru: Thank you Collective MindS Climate x Health Council for a renewed sense of urgency to WHA77

Vanina Laurent-Ledru, Director General at Foundation S- The Sanofi Collective, recently shared a post by Foundation S on LinkedIn:

“Thank you Collective MindS Climate x Health Council!

Your insights inspired us, motivated us and brought a renewed sense of urgency to WHA77. Onwards and upwards!”

Quoting Foundation S’s post:

“This week at the 77th World Health Assembly, members of the Collective MindS Climate x Health Council convened to discuss mobilising funding for climate adaptation.

With only 2% of climate adaptation funding allocated for health, the Council are calling for the need to reform the current finance architecture and highlight what is needed to ensure equitable and accessible funding for countries most in need. .

This year, the council is pleased to bolster its expertise by welcoming new members Monique Vledder, Practice Manager for Global Health Nutrition and Population Unit at The World Bank; Tamer Rabie, Global Program Lead for Climate and Health at The World Bank ; Dr Omnia El Omrani, Health Envoy for the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28 UAE) .

Also, Yacine Diop Djibo, Founder and Executive Director of Speak Up Africa, Senegal ; Marina Belén Romanello, Executive Director of The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change and Pascal Lamy, Vice President of Paris Peace Forum and former World Trade Organization director general.

During the WHA, Foundation S announced our 2024 Health Resilience Community Fund that will enable us to channel much needed funding into innovative solutions that will deliver rapid and tangible benefits for communities most in need, with a focus on investing in women and vulnerable groups to build community and health system resilience to the impacts of climate change in low and middle-income countries.”
